ÜBER DAS STÜCK

Die fantastische Geschichte, in der ein Mädchen von einer Farm in Kansas über den Regenbogen reist, um die magische Kraft der Heimat zu entdecken, unterhält das Publikum seit Generationen.

Es gibt zwei Fassungen von THE WIZARD OF OZ: RSC (Royal Shakespeare Company) und MUNY.

Beide beinhalten die Songs Over The Rainbow, Munchkinland (Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead), If I Only Had A Brain/A Heart/The Nerve, We're Off To See The Wizard (Follow The Yellow Brick Road), The Jitterbug und The Merry Old Land of Oz. Die RSC-Fassung enthält außerdem Poppies (Optimistic Voices) und If I Were King Of The Forest.

HINTERGRUND

Die RSC-Fassung ist eine originalgetreuere Adaption des Films. Eine technisch komplexe Produktion, die den Dialog und die Struktur des MGM-Klassikers fast Szene für Szene nachbildet, obwohl sie für die Live-Bühne konzipiert ist. Das musikalische Material der RSC-Version bietet auch mehr Einsatz für Chor und kleine Vokalensembles.
